Peter van Schelven

Peter van Schelven is associated with Cordemeyer & Slager / Advocaten as of counsel.
He has more than thirty years of experience in the fields of IT law, tendering and alternative dispute resolution. He is frequently invited as a guest speaker and lecturer – and quite welcome – at seminars and conventions and at various training institutes.

Peter has gained a very broad experience as legal counsel at Vomac and Capgemini, as an attorney-at-law at CMS Derks Star Busmann and as a legal counsel and interim director of Nederland ICT, an ICT industry organization.
Peter regularly lectures at universities in the Netherlands and abroad, amongst which Erasmus University Rotterdam and the postgraduate course Informatics at Grotius Academie.

Peter is the owner of legal advice firm ‘BIJ PETER – Wet & Recht’, which he started in 2014. He is amongst others also Senior lecturer Outvie-education Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO), lecturer/examiner Informatica law at Grotius Academy and Data protection officer for Open Line. Peter frequently writes articles, columns, annotations and commentaries in books and magazines.
He is also author or co-author of various manuals, handbooks and other professional literature in the fields of IT law, ADR and tendering.

Peter has been Legal Counsel/Managing director a.i. Nederland ICT (NL Digital), attorney-at-law at CMS Derks Star Busmann, legal Counsel at Capgemini and Volmac. He has been a board member of the Stichting Geschillenoplossing Automatisering (SGOA) and member of the non-executive Supervisory board of Stichting Internet Domeinregistratie Nederland (SIDN).
