Bull and SARA sign an agreement for the new Dutch super computer

On November 9, 2012 French IT company Bull and SARA, the Dutch national computer center which offers computing services to all Universities and research centers in the Netherlands, have signed an agreement for the delivery, installation and maintenance of the new national supercomputer. This computer will be the fastest computer system of the Netherlands and can make 1 billiard computations per second. According to a press release of April 6 the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) imposed a €475,000 fine on Booking.com because the company took too long to report a data breach to the DPA into compliance with Article 33 GDPR.

    If systems such as Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 are no longer supported by Microsoft, this may result in inadequate security, which could then be seen as an infringement of article 32 GDPR. Huge GDPR fines may be imposed because of this infringement.
